LAURINE ELIZABETH HOFFMAN STERLING- Laurine Elizabeth Hoffman, 93, died, Friday, March 22, 2013 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Prophetstown. Laurine was born July 18, 1919 in Glen Elder, KS, the daughter of Harvey and Mabel (Hendricks) Nusbaum. She married Henry L. Hoffman on September 28, 1940 in Clinton, IA. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1994. She was a 65 year member of First United Methodist Church, Sterling. Survivors include five sons, Ronald (Donna) Hoffman, and Roger (Kathy) Hoffman both of Rock Falls, David (Ellen) Hoffman, of Sterling, Dennis Hoffman of Coupeville, WA and Duane Hoffman of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Arleta Harms of Rock Falls and Joyce Baker of Charlotte, NC; three brothers, Donald Nusbaum of Park Ridge, Paul (Pat) Nusbaum and Charles (Alberta) Nusbaum, both of Dixon; one sister-in-law Zelma Nusbaum of Sterling; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Sharp, Evelyn Lobdell, and Pauline Wills; four brothers, Wayne, Deane, Wilmer and Brad Nusbaum. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, Sterling, with the Reverend Paul Judd, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established to Hospice of the Valley, Mesa, AZ,Vitas Hospice, of LaSalle and First United Methodist Church, Sterling. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
