SANDRA ELIZABETH CARD ROCKFORD - Sandra Elizabeth Card, 75, of Sterling, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Rockford Memorial Hospital with her loved ones by her side. Sandra was born April 27, 1937 in Sterling, the daughter of Darrell and Wanda (Reinboth) Farthing. She was the beloved wife of Robert Card whom she married on October 9, 1955 in Rock Falls. Sandra worked in the medical field until her retirement. She started her career with Dr. Tom McDonald. She later went to work as a receptionist manager for Sterling Rock Falls Clinic. Sandra ended her career as the office manager for a gastroenterologist clinic in Bettendorf, IA. Sandra's greatest pleasure in life was raising, showing and judging her beloved German Shepherds. She was a member of the American Kennel Club and a licensed German Shepherd dog judge. Survivors include her husband, Bob; one sister, Jill Farthing-Hansen, of Melbourne, FL; one niece, Amanda Lucas; and one grandnephew, Logan Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Tom Farthing, in infancy. A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were made by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Janice Card Memorial. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
