CAROL A. DICKHUT STERLING - Carol A. Dickhut, 87, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Carol was born November 9, 1925 in Wellman, IA, the daughter of Joe and Alta (Ropp) Erb. She married Donald Dickhut on October 25, 1970 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2000. Survivors include two daughters; Cheryl (Bruce) Frank of Sterling and Pamela (Ralph) Quiring of Santa Rosa, CA; three sons, Kevin (Debbie) Wade of Lincolnshire, Brent (Michelle Alderfer) Wade of Coleta, Barry (Mary) Dickhut of Sterling; one brother, Keith (Helen) Erb of Phoenix, AZ; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Craig Wade, in infancy; and one grandchild, Carol Alta, in infancy. Services will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday, May 6, 2013 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling with Maribeth Troyer, neice of Carol, officiating. Burial will be at the Science Ridge Mennonite Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 AM, prior to services, at the Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Hospice of the Rock River Valley. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
