EDWARD G. BURKE Rock Falls - Mr. Edward G. Burke, 83, died Thursday morning at CGH Medical Center. Edward Burke was born on December 16, 1929 in Clinton, IA the son of Edward R. and Jeanette Wilke Burke. He was a Sargent in the U. S. Army serving in Germany, during the occupation. He married Carol Elsasser in Sterling on February 10, 1951. He was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling. He is survived by his wife, Carol Burke; two daughters, Linda (Douglas) Kilberg of Chatham and Laura (Robert) Martin of Lake Elmo, MN; one son, Brian L. Burke of Rock Falls; one sister, Jean Burke of Sterling; one brother, John (Mary) Burke of Colorado; and one sister-in-law, Audrey Burke of Elizabeth, IL; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Albert Burke and sister, Phyllis Larson. Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Patrick Pinion church pastor officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. A Memorial has been established in his name.
