ROCK FALLS- Robert C. Mundt Sr., 87, died, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Loyola Hospital in Chicago. Robert served in the U.S. Army during WWII, in Germany. He was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire Manufacturing, for 30 years, until he retired in 1991. Mr. Mundt was born October 11, 1926 to William and Grace (Hess) Mundt, in Sterling. He married Lorraine P. (Wagenecht) Mundt on October 16, 1955, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Morrison. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; one daughter, Laurie (Jeffrey) Beyer, of Winnebago; one son, Robert (Cindy) Mundt, Jr, of Ottawa; and one sister, Dorothy Reglin, of Sterling; five grandchildren; one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Lawrence Mundt. Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Schilling Funeral Home, in Sterling. In addition, a visitation will be prior to the Funeral at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church from 9AM to 10AM. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Rock Falls, with Reverend Daniel Behmlander, Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial following the service will be at Genesee Township Cemetery, in Coleta. A memorial has been established to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls.
