STERLING- Judith L. Shipman, 67, of Sterling, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home. She was employed by Aramark Food Services. Mrs. Shipman was born July 12, 1946, in Sterling, to Russell and Helen (Wilkinson) Helms. She married Steve Shipman on February 20, 1965, in Sterling, and was a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling. Survivors include her husband, Steve; one son, Stacy (Laurie) Shipman, of Rock Falls; one daughter Shelley (Barry) Montague, of Dubuque, IA; one brother, Kenneth Helms, of Kansas; grandchildren, Heather Yeager, Hannah (Joe) Grove, Nolan Montague, Blake and Brittney Shipman; great grandchild, Arlow Grove; and nephew Ryan Helms. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 2014 from 6 PM to 8PM at New Life Lutheran Church, in Sterling. Funeral will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11 AM also at the church. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Cemetery, in Sterling, following the funeral service. Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling is handling arrangements. A Memorial has been established to New Life Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com.
