LAUREL, MARYLAND-Nancy J. Merrill, formerly of Sterling, died Thursday, July 2, 2014 at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & homemaker. She was also a bookkeeper for Bi-County Special Education, for 12 years and co-owner of NSM Properties. Nancy was born October 12, 1955 in Morrison, the daughter of Gene and Janet (Janke) Smith. She married Steven Merrill on March 6, 1981 in Sterling. Nancy loved spending quality time with her truly cherished grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Steven, of Laurel, Maryland; one daughter, Jennifer (Stephen) McCormick of Silver Spring, Maryland, two sons, Cameron Foreman and Dustin Merrill, both of Sterling; one brother, David Smith of Marshalltown, IA; sister in-law, Cindy Smith of Morrison and three grandchildren, Gage Foreman of Rock Falls, Victoria and Tucker McCormick, both of Silver Spring, Maryland. She was proceeded in death by both of her parents and her brother, Thomas Smith. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
