CHARLES R. DICKINSON STERLING-Charles R. Dickinson, 83, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at CGH Medical Center. He was employed as a Postal Clerk, for the United States Post Office, prior to retirement in 1988. Charles was born, November 8, 1930 in Sterling, the son of Leroy Alvin and Emma (Haussman) Dickinson He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Betty Loughe on January 27, 1957 in Sterling. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sterling. Survivors include his wife Betty, two daughters, Debra (Mike) Stuker of Rochelle and Diane (Ron) Schnoebelen of Prophetstown; four grandchildren, Christy (Jason) Deutsch of Normal, Tracy (Jeff) Schikora of Romeoville, Jason (Summer) Stuker of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Michael (Cynthia) Stuker of Bentonville,AR; and nine great grandchildren, Alyssa, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Ella, Savannah, Lucas, Maddie, Allie, and Elliot. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 2, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sterling, with the Reverend Mark Oehlert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Saturday, prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Dickinson and brother, Howard. A memorial has been established. Arrangements are being completed by the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
