MARILYN R. THOMAS STERLING-Marilyn R. Thomas, 79, passed away, Saturday, December 18, 2011 at Sterling Pavilion. She had been a resident of Heritage Woods of Sterling for the past two years. Marilyn was born February 2, 1932 in Sterling the daughter of Herbert and Gertrude (Moore) Drane. She attended Wallace School and Sterling High School. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Kenneth) Bailey of Sterling; one grandson, Shad (Maggie) Bailey; one granddaughter, Daniele (Matt) Hussung of Mt. Morris; four great- grandchildren, Camden and Karsyn Bailey and Ian and Ryan Hussung; five sisters, Irene Prew, Violet Windham, Alice (Pete) Middleton, Mary (James) Doane, all of Sterling and Anita (Leonard) Gilbert of Rock Falls; one brother, Ron (Frieda) Drane of Sterling and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard Thomas; brother, Herbert Drane; two sisters in infancy and two nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with Dalmus Meeks, pastor of Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Tuesday, prior to services. A memorial has been established to Rock River Valley Hospice.
