Obituary of Mary Poci

STERLING- Mary L. Poci, 89, of Sterling, died Saturday, September 13, 2014. Mary was born on August 13, 1925, in Milwaukee to Charles and Janet (Lathrop) Misosevic. She married Tony Poci on August 30, 1947 at St. Mary's Church in Sterling. He preceded her in death October 26, 1987. Mary made dolls and sold them for several years. She loved to swim at the YMCA, and was a Pink Lady at CGH. She farmed with her husband for over 40 years until 1987. Mary moved to Mesa, AZ in 1995, returning to Rock Falls in 2010. Survivors include one daughter, Toni (Frank Clementz) Poci; one son, Buddy (Nikki) Poci, both of Rock Falls; three grandchildren, Melissa Conboy, and Troy Poci, of Phoenix, AZ, and Anthony (Kim) Poci of Rock Falls; and two great grandchildren, Natalie (Ross) Wood, and Jeffery Conboy. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Ben and her parents. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Church in Sterling, with Father James Keenan officiating. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 prior to the service at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 5 PM to 7 PM also at the funeral home.
