Obituary of Mildred Shuman

MILDRED "TOOTIE" SHUMAN ROCK FALLS �" Mildred "Tootie" Shuman, 87 died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Rock Falls Rehabilitation Center. She was employed by Scott's Variety Store prior to retiring. She was a member of Women of the Moose, Sterling. Mildred was born, November 5, 1921 in Sterling, the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Pigg) Carl. She married Virgil Shuman on February 16, 1941 in Clinton, IA. He preceded her in death October 23, 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann (Doug) Boemecke, of Davenport IA; a son, Terry (Linda) Shuman of Landson SC; one brother, Edward "Bud" (Janet) Carl of Sterling; eleven grandchildren; forty one great grandchildren; and eight great great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by one sister Charlotte Gasso. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 �" 10 AM Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
