Obituary of William Allen

William "Bill" R. Allen ROCK FALLS- Mr. William "Bill" R. Allen, 76, died Sunday, January 11, 2008 at his home after a brief illness. Mr. Allen owned Allen's TV in Sterling for twenty years, after selling the store he farmed in the area for 20 years until his retirement. William R. Allen was born December 8, 1932 in Sterling, the son of William R. and Alice Foss Allen. Four days after Bill was born his mother died, his father William Allen and nanny Cleora Capp then raised him. He is survived by three daughters, Kathy (Marv) Van Ommeren of Owatonna, MN, Karen (Chris) Rogers of Crystal Lake, and Kayla (Dave) Paetsch of West Dundee; and six grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Van Ommeren, Hannah, C.J. and Halle Rogers and Abigail Paetsch. Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday, January 14, 2008 at the Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Zuithoff pastor of Bethel Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association.
