Obituary of Ignacio Rodriguez

SAN BENITO, TX �" Ignacio S. Rodriguez, 95, of San Benito, formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009. He retired in 1979 from NWS & Wire in Sterling after 30 years of service. Mr. Rodriguez was born September 18, 1913 in San Benito, TX. He married Cecelia Montes in June of 1936. He served in the United States Army in WWII. Survivors include four daughters; Irma (Narciso) Puentes, Eliza (Manuel) Penaflor, Esmeralda (Ramiro) Escobedo and Yolanda (Ruben) Moreno, two sons; Ignacio Rodriguez and Hector (Cathy) Rodriguez, one daughter-in-law Mary Rodriguez, twenty four grandchildren, thirty six great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, five sons; Fred, Herman Rodriguez and Emiliano, Omar and David in infancy, a daughter-in-law Ann Rodriguez, two grandchildren in infancy, five brothers; Manuel, Abram, Auel, Tawbrino and Jose Rodriguez and three sisters, Julia, Abelina and Antonia. Funeral services were held in Harlingen, Texas. A memorial service will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
