Obituary of William Whitley

WILLIAM WHITLEY STERLING- William Whitley, 76, died, Sunday, March 8, 2009 at home. He was employed at Lawrence Brothers, prior to retirement. William was born June 7, 1932 in Sterling. The son of William and Ida Whitley. He married Dorothy Whitley on June 25, 1955 in Rock Falls. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2008. Survivors include three daughters, Penny Whitley of Rock Falls, Julie Ferneau and Peggy LeRette, both of Dixon; two sons, Randall Whitley of Houston, TX and Russell Whitley of Sterling; one sister, Alice Pope of Rock Falls; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lindsay Ferneau. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. There will be no funeral services or visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded.
