Obituary of Bertram Ross

BERTRAM W. ROSS STERLING- Bertram Ross, 88, died early Sunday April 19, 2009 at CGH Medical Center after an illness. He had been employed by Northwestern Steel & Wire for many years as a table operator. Bertram was born March 21, 1921 in Makanda, the son of Edward and Anna Cox Ross. He served in the United States Army during WW II. He married Louise Orsburn on May 2, 1942 in Jackson, MO. She died on January 26, 1990. Survivors include two daughters Kim Johnson and Janet (Gary L.) Schrader both of Sterling; one brother Paul Ross of Leesburg, FL; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Bertram was also preceded in death by two daughters Barbara McConnell and Sharon Long; and three brothers. Funeral services will be 11AM Wednesday April 22, 2009 at the Schilling Funeral Home, with Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial with Military rites will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 to 11AM at the funeral home
