STERLING- Harriet E. Reents, 98, died Sunday January 1, 2012 at CGH Medical Center. Harriet was born August 5, 1913 in Dixon the daughter of Paul and Lillian (Lanford) Harms. She was a graduated from SHS in the class of 1931. She married Fred E. Reents on April 2, 1937 in Palmyra Township. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1971. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling. Survivors include one daughter Judith R. Purvis of Poway, CA; one sister Miriam Dypold of Elgin; one brother Gail (Phyllis) Harms of Crystal Lake; two granddaughters Ann (Ian) Vatet of Poway CA and Jill (Jim) Barker of Steamboat Springs, CO; one granddaughter in-law Karen Purvis of San Diego, CA; five great-grandchildren Jake and Lena Barker, Owen, Nathan and Audrey Purvis. She was also preceded in death by one grandson Eric Purvis. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday January 5, 2012 at Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Judith Huseth, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home. A Memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com
