Obituary of Helen Smith

HELEN JEANETTE SMITH STERLING �" Helen Jeanette Smith, 91, of Sterling, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Smith was born April 5, 1918, in Racine, WI, the daughter of Frank and Claudine (Mohr) Harden. She married Harold Thorn Smith on April 25, 1937, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Edna Mitchell, of Sterling and Gayle (Wayne) Weerts, of Sterling; seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Loy Ellen Cleaveland; her sister, Edna Smith; and two brothers, James Harden and Herbert Harden. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 8, 2009, at Schilling Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-4 P.M., Sunday, June 7, 2009, at the Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Hospice of Rock River Valley. Condolences may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com.
