FRANK E. KAUFMAN STERLING �" Frank Kaufman, 91, of Sterling, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was the former owner/operator of Ka-Mar Electric in Sterling. Mr. Kaufman was born January 5, 1918 in Bloomington, the son of Preston and Florence (Cook) Kaufman. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He married Alethia Neitzke on June 23, 1942, in Sterling. She preceded him in death on July 10, 1991. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milledgeville. Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Kaufman, of Rockford, and Barbara (Kenneth) Schaver, of Morrison; two sons, Kenneth (Lynn) Kaufman, of Sterling, and Gary (Diann) Kaufman, of Rockford; two sisters, Eloise (Ben) Kingery, of Rock Falls, and Bessie Livsey, of Jerseyville; three brothers, Wayne (Fern) Kaufman, of Phoenix, AZ, Joe (Marsha) Kaufman, of Morrison, and Marvin (Kay) Kaufman, of Fulton; special friend, Alice Protokowitz, of Milledgeville; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Elmer, Don, Glen, Clyde and Lyle Kaufman; one grandson and one great granddaughter. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M., Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com
