Obituary of Marcel Schoenleben

MARCEL SCHOENLEBEN POPLAR BLUFF, MO - Marcel Schoenleben, 87, formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at River Mist Assisted Living in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was employed as a Legal Secretary for L.C. Wheeler for many years. Marcel was born March 17, 1924 in Dixon, the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Martin) Gilbert. She married Milton M. Schoenleden on October 14, 1950 in Sterling, he preceded him in death onMay 14, 2004. Marcel was the organist for Science Ridge Mennonite Church and First Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Louise (Robert) Lindsay, of Poplar Bluff, MO; two grandchildren, Danelle Helmers, of Poplar Bluff, MO and Amanda (Travis) Toombs, of Bloomfield, MO; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Helmers, Victoria Lindsay and Rachel Toombs. She was also preceded in death by one brother Dewey Gilbert; and two sisters Fairie Means, and Norma Thomas. Services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, October 10, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Sterling with Reverend John Kermott, officiating. Burial will be at the Science Ridge Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established to the Science Ridge Mennonite Church and First Baptist Church.
