Obituary of Coral McCormick

Coral L. McCormick Dixon- Coral L. McCormick (formerly of Sterling) died Monday, August 31, 2009. Coral was born on September 30, 1912 in Morris, the daughter of William and Alice Turner Poppleton, Sr. She married James "Larry" McCormick in Prophetstown on June 20, 1936. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1983. Mrs. McCormick was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Esther Circle. She was a cook at Newman High School for over ten years. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping and eating out. Loving Mother of two daughters, Diane (John) Schoaf and JoAnn (Dennis) Malmberg both of Dixon; one son, Gary McCormick of Florida; and six grandchildren, Matthew (Christine) Schoaf and their children Kieran and Amanda; Michael (Ileana) Schoaf and their children Monica and Evan; Dr. Daniel (Tami) Schoaf and their children Noah, Isabel and Lucas; Juliet Malmberg and her children, Lauren and Jacob Grove and Destiny and Elijah Malmberg; Heidi (Brent) Schmall and their children Connor, Dylan and Liam; Douglas (Jessica) Malmberg and their children Carley & Gracey. She was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Nancy Weingartner pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sterling. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Wesley United Methodist Church, KSB Hospice, and Newman High School.
