Jeannette M. Johnson Sterling, IL - Jeannette M. Johnson, 92, of Sterling, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Good Neighbor Care of Sterling. She was employed as a custodian for Sterling High School for 26 years. Mrs. Johnson was born in Sterling, the daughter of John and Rose (Lange) Meggers. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1935. She married Robert W. Johnson on January 11, 1936 in Sterling. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sterling, Moose lodge #726 in Sterling and the American Legion Post 296. Survivors are Robert Johnson, of Sterling, one daughter, Sharon (Henry) Steinhagen, of Sterling; three grandsons, Robert (Tara) Steinhagen, of Rock Falls, Bradley (Susan) Steinhagen, of Sterling, and Brian (Julie) Steinhagen, of Smyrna, TN; four great-grandchildren, Madison and Hunter, of Rock Falls, and Claire and Henry, of Sterling; a niece, Glenda (Terry) MacLennan, of Dixon; and a nephew, Marke (Jan) Reglin, of Sterling. She was preceded in death by a sister, Fern Reglin. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 26, 2009, at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling with Reverend Leo Patterson of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-4 P.M., Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the St. John's Lutheran Church and Heartland Health Services.
