Obituary of Roert Wiersema

ROBERT K. WIERSEMA CHADWICK- Robert K. Wiersema, 81, died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Coventry Village. He had farmed in the area for many years. Robert was born April 29, 1928 in Whiteside County the son of Peter E. and Alice (Aggen) Wiersema. He served in the United States Army. He married Betty A. Medema on September 15, 1950 in Morrison. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2008. He was a member of the Milledgeville Brethren Church. Survivors include two daughters, Laura (Randy) Bogott and Ellen (Greg) LeFevre, both of Chadwick; three sons, Michael (Wendy) Wiersema and Doug (Vickie) Wiersema, both of Chadwick and Steve (Corrine) Wiersema of Loves Park; one sister, Mary Vermeulen of Waynesboro, VA; sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Schell and one grandson, Gabe Bogott. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Milledgeville Brethren Church, with the Reverend Russell C. Gordon and Pastor Daniel Wiersema, officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery, Milledgeville. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Wednesday at the Milledgeville Brethren Church.
