Obituary of Bernice Bushman

E. BERNICE BUSHMAN STERLING - E. Bernice Bushman, 86, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at CGH Medical Center. She was a realtor in the area for many years. Bernice was born August 12, 1923 in Chadwick, the daughter of Charles and Inez (Humbert) Honberger. She married Lyle H. Bushman on February 10, 1946 in Chadwick. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2007. Bernice was a longtime active member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sterling. She was a member of the Whiteside County Zoning Board for 22 years. She also served as precinct committeewoman for many years, and she was an active member of the Whiteside County Republican Women. She was a member of the Friends of the Sterling Public Library. Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Kerry) McMahon, of Springfield, and Susan (Lynn) Hunt, of Todd, NC; one son, Brad Bushman, of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Michelle McMahon, Kelly McMahon, Amy Siebert, Kim Stille and Kirstin Hunt; three step-grandchildren, Leslie Scarborough, Mark Hunt and Karleen Basch; and three great-grandchildren, Jay Siebert, Nick Siebert and Lauren Stille. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastor Nancy Weingartner, officiating. Burial will be at the Fairhaven Township Cemetery, Chadwick. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM, Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established to the Wesley United Methodist Church.
