LORETTA K. KUEHL Sterling- Mrs. Loretta K. Kuehl, 87, died Sunday morning, June 13, 2010 at Good Neighbors Assisted Living in Sterling. Loretta Kuehl was born July 23, 1922 in Yorktown, IL, the daughter of Herman and Effie Berge Yonk. She married Orville Kuehl in Yorktown on May 15, 1943. Mrs. Kuehl was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for several years. Loretta was employed at J. C. Penney's for seventeen years where she made many friends. For many years she also helped her husband Orville farm. Most of all, Loretta enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, and cooking. She is survived by her husband, Orville of Sterling; two daughters, Cheryl A. Marshall of Rockford and Lorie (Jerry) Miller of Dixon; six grandchildren, Kimberli (James) Cain, Dana (Jamie) Roser, Dawn (John) Kautz, Shawn (Becky) Chaffee, Eric (Devon) Kuehl and Corey (Autumn) Chaffee; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Deryl; and two brothers, Wilbur and Lorence Yonk. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, June 17, 2010 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Reverend Judi Huseth officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Schilling Funeral Home. A Memorial has been established.
