Esther Johnson, 93, died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center. Esther was born September 14, 1916 in Sterling the daughter of Walter and Hedwig Heyer Stern. She married Elmer Johnson on September 3, 1936 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1987. Survivors include two daughters; Diane Mosher of Lyndon and Donna Bryson of Polo, one daughter-in-law Gwen Johnson of Rock Falls, ten grandchildren; Roger, Robert and Gary Wagner, Karen Mendez, Jeffrey and Alex Johnson, Amy Eifel, Ted and Darren Mosher and Shellie Keller, seventeen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons; Gary and Allan Johnson; three son- in-laws Lyle Mosher, Delbert Bryson and William Wagner and one sister. Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Patrick Pinion, pastor officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11AM at the church. A memorial has been established to Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church and Christ Lutheran School.
