My first memories of Ginny are from our elementary school days in Coleta after consolidation. Ginny always had the most beautiful hair--done in long braids or "puppy dog tails". She was funny and friendly to everyone. We spent a lot of time together through the last years at elementary school and then through Sterling High School. We made a lot of memories riding on the bus route together every day! Ginny was the first one to come to find me the day JFK was assassinated--she knew I'd be a basket-case! She and I spent a lot of "overnights" together, and her parents were gracious enough to include me many, many times to go to a ballgame or other school activity I would not have been able to attend otherwise. I must admit we played some of the pranks kids played back then--like calling our teachers and asking them if they had Prince Albert in a can--and then quickly hanging up and laughing hysterically. How naive were we to think they didn't know who was doing it!! And, I have to admit that we were the two responsible for Larry having to come out to Freeport Road late one night to "save" us when the fan belt on Lenharts' car somehow frayed and broke. I have to hand it to Larry--he saw right through our "explanations"! As with most of us, our lives went in different directions past high school and we lost track of one another--only hearing an occasional bit of news from a common friend along the way. I was very thankful to hear from Gary when Ginny began her fight with cancer, so I was able to reconnect with her. She was a very strong, brave woman. But I'll always remember her as that little girl with the plaid skirt with the ruffle on the bottom and the shiny beautiful hair in braids.Norma
