Obituary of Lois Cassens

LOIS E. CASSENS STERLING- Mrs. Lois E. Cassens, 88, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island. Lois E. Cassens was born on August 21, 1922 in Peoria, the daughter of Robert and Pearl Helmantoler Parks. She married Walter Cassens on January 7, 1945 in Sterling. She is survived by one son, Larry Cassens of Metamora; two daughters, Marcia (Gary) Fields of Sterling and Barbara Koenig of Metamora; two sisters, Helen (Clint) Woodyatt of Sterling and Margie (Jason) Hopkins of Pekin; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Harold and Gerald Parks; and one sister, Anne Teske. Funeral services will be 11AM on Monday at the Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Judy Huseth of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM prior to the funeral service. Private burial will take place at a later date. A Memorial has been established to Happy Tails.
