RICHARD S. MYERS MILLEDGEVILLE-Richard S. Myers, 86, died, Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Polo Continental Manor. He was a salesman for John Deere prior to retirement. Richard was born August 31, 1924 in Oregon, the son of Perry and Sadie (Ling) Myers. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Olga V. Hatina on August 25, 1951 in Oregon. Richard was a member of the Milledgeville United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Olga of Milledgeville; two daughters, Mary (Rex) Haeft of Milledgeville and Barbara (Duane) Imel of Chadwick; one sister-in-law, Lois Myers of Oregon; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Myers. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Milledgeville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dan Sturtevant, officiating, with military rites to follow. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Saturday, prior to services at the church. A memorial has been established to Milledgeville United Methodist Church and Milledgeville Fire Station. Condolence may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com.
