DARLENE NELSON
ROCK FALLS- Darlene Nelson, 97, died Saturday May 7, 2011 at Coventry Living Center in Sterling after an illness.
Darlene was born September 10, 1913 in Prophetstown the daughter of Charles and Minniel (Sachjin) Sandrock. She married Clyde L. Nelson on December 14, 1937 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. She was a member of New Life Lutheran Church of Sterling.
Surviving are her husband Clyde Nelson, several nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Ernest and Alfred Sandrock and two sisters, Mary Ufkin and Emma Plautz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday May 10, 2011 at New Life Lutheran Church of Sterling with the Reverend William Sullivan pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 AM at the Church
A memorial has been established to the New Life Lutheran Church of Sterling.
