Obituary of Eugene Tackett

EUGENE TACKETT ROCKFALLS- Eugene Tackett, 83, died, Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at CGH Medical Center. He was employed as a hammerman at Illinois Forge, prior to retirement. Eugene was born November 21, 1927 in Lode, KY, the son of Craig and Emma (Owens) Tackett. He married Darlyne Arfman on November 22, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa. She preceded him in death on October 20, 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Valerie (Vance) Bouchard of Dickson TN, Penny Butrick of Nashville, TN; two sons, Timothy (Jackie) Tackett of Port Charlotte, FL and Rick Tackett of Omaha, NE; one sister, Arlene Ison of Piketon, OH; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with Pastor Don Lewis. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM, prior to services. Luncheon will follow at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Rock Falls, following the funeral. Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com.
