Obituary of Helen Kosier

Helen M. Kosier Sterling - Helen M. Kosier, 94, died Monday, August 8, 2011 at Sterling Pavilion. She was employed as a secretary for Unit 5 School District for many years. Helen loved spending time with her family, and grandchildren. She was an avid cubs fan, and enjoyed playing bridge. Helen was born March 20, 1917 in Houghton, SD, the daughter of Herman and Tressa Corbin. She married Cecil Kosier on December 30, 1937 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1991. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sterling. Survivors include one daughter, Karen Kosier, of Rock Island; two sons, Keith (Colleen) Kosier and Kent Kosier, both of Sterling; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 12, 2011 at Schilling Funeral Home with Merle Heckman, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.
