Obituary of Sylvia Schmarje

STERLING- Sylvia A. Schmarje, 91, of Sterling, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her home. Sylvia was born October 3, 1923 in Walworth, WI, the daughter of Louie and Hazel (Gorenflo) Brennecka. She married Donald Schmarje on April 1, 1943 in Harvard, he preceded her in death on October 23, 1995. Survivors include three daughters Paulette Tyne of Sterling, Donna (Mitch) Coppage of Keokuk IA, and Janice (Kevin) Hollian of Buckeye AZ; one son Leonard (Peggy) Schmarje of Harvard; one brother Dexter (Clare) Schmarje of Harvard; a sister Nona Naatz of Algonquin; eight grandchildren. Seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter Margo; nine sisters and seven brothers, and one son in-law Norman Tyne, two grandchildren Shane Schmarje, and Jesse Endsley Jr., and two great-grandchildren. Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial service will take place at a later date. A memorial has been established. Arrangements are being handled by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
