DOROTHY L. LEESMAN STERLING - Dorothy L. Leesman, 94, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Sterling Pavilion. Dorothy was born January 9, 1918 in Racine, WI, the daughter of Karl G. and Emma (Semantel) Schueler. She married Leroy Leesman on March 18, 1939 in Freeport. Dorothy was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. She was also a former member of the Adult Choir, Bell Choir and Alter Guild. Dorothy enjoyed sewing. Survivors include her husband, Leroy; one daughter-in-law, Jill Leesman; one grandchild, Marissa (Jeronimo) Chavez; one great-grandson, Tre Chavez; one step-granddaughter, Jennifer Bennett; and one sister, Marian Dace. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Leesman; and brother, Ronald Schueler. Services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, April 2, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls with Reverend Henrietta Milner, officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 AM, Monday, prior to services, at the Church. Arrangements were made by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established to the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
