Obituary of Patricia Burks

Patricia E. Burks, 78, of Sterling, died Monday Oct 19, 2015, at Sterling Pavilion. Patricia was born March 14, 1937, in Sterling, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Shirley) Carew. She married Earl E. Burks on January 5, 1957 in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1985. Survivors include one daughter Roberta (William) Dean of Sterling; five sons, George (Angela) Burks, of Sterling, Robert (Barb) Burks of Lyndon, Tim (Brandi) Burks, of Sterling, William (Lisa) Burks, of Sterling, Kevin (Rhonda) Burks, of Lyndon; one sister Roberta (William) Rhodes, of Como; thirteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, and two sisters, Elaine Carew and Mary Ann Carew. A memorial service for Patricia will be held at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, in Sterling on Friday Oct 23, 2015 at 8p.m. with Dalmus Meeks, pastor of Harvest Time Bible Church, of Rock Falls officiating. Visitation will be held Friday October 23, 2015 from 6PM to 8PM prior to the memorial service. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established.
