STERLING-Josephine Lira, 78, of Sterling died Wednesday December 30, 2015 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.
She was born in Edinburg, Texas on November 7, 1937 the daughter of Guadalupe and Maria DeJesus (Pena) Sandoval.
Survivors include two Sons Henry (Lisa) Lira and David (Lonna) Lira both of Sterling; two Daughters Rosa (Geronimo) Rodriguez of Sterling, Maria (Omar) Aguilera of Pheonix, AZ; two Brothers Filemon Sandoval and Gumesindo (Sally) Sandoval both of Sterling; four sisters Paula Cantu of Weslaco, TX, Paula (Joe) Tijerina of Sterling, Maria (Mucio) Marquez of Yuma, AZ and Estella (Manuel) Tejeda of Rockford; Special friend Federico Rosas; 23 Grandchildren; 48 Great Grandchildren and two Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons Guadalupe Lira, Juan Luis Lira, Jose Luis Lira; one daughter Maria Lira; one sister Francisca Camacho; four brothers Guadalupe, Lucas, Reynaldo and Eliborio Sandoval.
Funeral services for Josephine will be held on Monday January 4, 2016, at 11AM, at the Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation with Father Sanchez officiating. The visitation will be Sunday January 3, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
