Obituary of Camilla J. Breed

CAMILLA JO “CAMMIE” BREED STERLING-Camilla Jo “Cammie” Breed, 59, of Sterling, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at her home. Cammie was a breast cancer survivor of 8 years, and was in remission until recently. She was employed by Royal Steel Ball Products Inc., as the accounting supervisor. Cammie was born March 23, 1956, in Sterling, the daughter of Royal L. and Beverly J. (Anderson) Breed. She was a graduate of Sterling High School. Later in life she graduated with an associate degree in Applied Science at Sauk Valley Community College, Sterling and received certification as a Registered Nurse. She worked for CGH Medical Center and the Sterling Rock Falls Clinic. Cammie donated to many charitable organizations throughout her life and was a life time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sterling. Survivors include her mother, Beverly J. Breed; two sons, Matthew Hicks of Sterling and Terry (Anna) Hicks of Rock Falls; five grandsons, Jonas, Nolan, Keagan, Kameron and Kathan; five brothers, David Breed, currently of Bucharest, Romania, Melton (Leann) Breed of Eau Claire, WI, Gary Breed of Mt. Horeb, WI, Daniel (Diana) Breed of Boulder, CO; Martin (Tricia) Breed of Sterling; eleven nieces and nephews; her significant other, Glenn Thielen of Sterling and many friends over her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her father, Royal L. Breed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11:30 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sterling with Reverend Mark Oehlert, pastor, officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday and from 10:15 to 11:15 prior to the funeral at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sterling. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will take place at a later date, at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling, next to her father. A memorial has been established to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sterling, for special needs and projects. Arrangements were completed by the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling.
