Obituary of Mary Olalde

MARY J. OLALDE STERLING- Mary J. Olalde, 61, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at CGH Medical Center. She was a personnel manager at K-Mart in Sterling, retiring in 2003. Mary was born February 5, 1951 in San Felipe GTO Mexico, the daughter of Manuel A. and Maria S. (Morua) Villegas, Sr.. She married Dionicio "Don" T. Olalde on October 12, 1968 in Niles Michigan. She was a member at St Mary Catholic Church, Sterling where she volunteered for many activities. She also helped out at the Caring Place in Rock Falls. Mary enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and was an avid Sterling Warrior Fan. Survivors include her husband Don of Sterling; her mother, Maria Villegas of Sterling; four daughters, Mary Ann "Shorty" Olalde, Lolly Olalde, Grace (BJ) Bostelman and Tina (Zach) Knox, all of Sterling; one son, DJ Olalde of Sterling; one sister Carmen (Joe Garza Sr.) Villegas of Sterling; three brothers, Johnny Villegas and Manuel Villegas Jr., both of Sterling and Evaristo Villegas of Dixon and seven grandchildren, MaKenzie Love, Brady Bostelman, Jose, Kyleigh and Nolan Knox, Kiana Olalde and Caeymn McCoy, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Manuel Villegas one brother, Miguel "Mike" Villegas. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Sterling with the Reverend Juan Ayala, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com.
