MARIA S. VILLEGAS STERLING-Maria Villegas, 77, died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at CGH Medical Center. Maria was born November 1, 1934 in Mainero, Mexico, the daughter of Mathias and Margarita (Zuniga) Morua. She married Manuel A. Villegas, Sr. in Donna, Texas on February 15, 1950, he preceded her in death on October 9, 1993. Survivors include one daughter, Carmen (Joe Garza, Sr.) Villegas; three sons, Juan Villegas and Manuel Villegas, Jr., both of Sterling and Evaristo Villegas of Dixon; one brother Guadalupe Morua of TX; one son-in-law, Don Olalde of Sterling; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Olalde; one son, Miguel "Mike" Villegas and four brothers, Lorenzo, Esteban, Jose and Jaime Morua. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at St Mary Catholic Church, with the Reverend Juan Ayala, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Tuesday, at the Schilling Funeral Home. Sterling. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com.
