CHARLES LAYTON NUNEMAKER STERLING- Mr. Charles Layton Nunemaker, 100, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Sterling Pavilion. Charles Layton Nunemaker was born on December 16, 1911 in Sterling, the son of Enos and Ada Book Nunemaker. He married Marian Myers on June 1, 1941 in Sterling. She preceded him in death on September 17, 2002. He had been employed by Commonwealth Edison in Dixon for over 37 years before retiring. Mr. Nunemaker was a member of the First Congregational Church in Rock Falls. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Nancy Nunemaker of Sterling; and two grandchildren, Emily (Mark) Bressler of Mt. Carroll and Jason (Carla) Nunemaker of Des Moines, IA; two great-grandchildren, Wilson Taft Bressler and Jackson Todd Bressler. He was also preceded in death by one son, Gordon Nunemaker; and one brother, Weldon Nunemaker. Memorial services will be 11 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Al Campbell of First Congregational Church in Rock Falls officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established to the First Congregational Church in Rock Falls.
