Obituary of Linda Smith

STERLING- Linda J. Smith, 69, of Sterling, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family.

    Linda was born June 18, 1947 in Sterling, the daughter of Ruth McCoy. She married Bruce Smith on August 22, 1992 in Oakfield, WI. Linda enjoyed her time spent with family and friends.

    Survivors include her husband, Bruce of Sterling;  two sons, Rich (Theresa Morgan) Mackey of Rock Falls and Mike (Tresa) Mackey of Sterling; three grandchildren Dawn (William) Strength of Ashford AL, Christopher Mackey and Tanner Mackey both of Sterling; one great-grandchild, Bailey Strength of Ashford AL; one sister Patricia Megli and nephew Mark Megli both of Rock Falls; and her loving pet Scooter.

    She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth McCoy.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, May 22, 2017 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation with the Pastor Brian Tribley, from Firehouse of God, officiating. Burial will be at East Jordan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM Monday, prior to services at the funeral home.

    A memorial has been established.
