Obituary of Charles E. Wiker

    Charles E. Wiker, 92, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Avonlea Cottage of Sterling.

    Charles was born December 3, 1924 in Sterling, the son of  Harry and Mary (Drane) Wiker. He served in the United States Army during WWII, in Europe in the 759th Light Tank Brigade of General Hodges 1st Army. He married Ann Kortes on May 21,1950 in Freeport. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2012. He was employed by the former Lawrence Brothers, Sterling until his retirement. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling.

    Survivors include three daughters, Linda (David) Kavran and Gloria Rodriguez, both of Sterling and Judy Rajnowski of Ukiah, CA; seven grandchildren Beth (Ben) Dir, Todd Kavran, Joshua Rodriguez, Misty (Mike) Baron, Alison (Aaron) Goldsberry, Amy (Seth) Couillard, and Jake Rajnowski; and twelve great-grandchildren Ryan, Trevor, and Shawn Dir, Sarah, Nathanael, and Jenna Rodriguez, Elena Baron, Jacob, Charles, and Aaron Goldsberry, Max and Nick Couillard.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann; one sister in infancy and sister, Dorothy Rohde and four brothers, Harry Jr., Leslie, Carroll and Lawrence.

    A memorial has been established.
