Obituary of Virginia Easley

STERLING-Virginia M. Easley, 94, of Sterling, died, Monday, May 28, 2018 at Citadel Care of Sterling. She worked for the State of Illinois job services for 25 years until her retirement in 1983. Virginia enjoyed golfing and was an avid book reader.

    Virginia was born May 30, 1923 in Sterling, the daughter of Clyde and Vida (Scott) Fridley. She married Robert Easley on January 22, 1944 in Corvallis, OR. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1996.

    Survivors include her daughter, Linda Dir of Sterling; one son, Jeffrey (Lynnette) Easley of Asheville, NC and one grandson, Aaron Easley of NC.

    She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Easley.

    Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, June 1, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Sterling with Reverend Jack Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10-11AM Friday, prior to services at the church.

    A memorial has been established to First Baptist Church and Rock River Hospice and Home.
