Obituary of Elwyn William Rhode

      Elwyn “Bud” Rhode, 95, of Coleta died, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Resthave Home of Morrison. He was a well driller and worked for Farmers Elevator and then Retiring from Whiteside FS.

     Elwyn was born July 09, 1923 in Coleta, the son of John and Lucy (Heinze) Rhode. He served in the United States Army. He married Bernice Hoover on August 20, 1945 in Richmond, Virginia. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2005.

     Elwyn was a member of Coleta United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and mowing. Elwyn wintered in Harlegen, TX.

     Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Paul) Wetzell of Rock Falls and Sally Unterzuber of Coleta; one brother, Charles (Barb) Rhode of Sterling; two sisters, Jennalee Rascoe of Rock Falls and Frances (Richard) Pearson of Tampico; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; four sisters, Dorothy Rhode, Arlene Rhode, Betty Rhode and Bethel Rhode; one nephew, Charles Rhode Jr; one neice, Annette Ernest.

     Private Graveside Service will be held at West Genesee Cemetery, Coleta.

     A memorial has been established to Happy Tails of Rock Falls and Resthave Home of Morrison.
