Obituary of Jose C. Cruz

STERLING- Jose C. Cruz, 87, of Sterling, died, Thursday, October 4, 2018 at his home.

     Jose Cruz was born December 27, 1930 in Chihuahua Mexico. He married Maria E. Rodriguez on April 3, 1948 in Brownsville, TX.  She preceded him in death on October 25, 2008. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Sterling.

     Survivors include four daughters, Rose Ballard, of Vallejo, CA, Jane (Ron) Barnett, of Summerfield FL, Lisa (Lee) Tatom of Valispell, MT, and Diane Cruz of Vallejo, CA; three sons, Johnny (JoDell) Cruz of Sterling, David (Jann) Cruz of Sterling, and Frank Cruz of Dixon; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

    Jose was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, George; and one daughter Nelly.

    Funeral will be 11 AM, Monday October 8, 2018 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, Sterling with Reverend Jorge Bravo, of St. Mary Church, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral from 9AM to 11AM.  

   A memorial has been established.
