Obituary of James Taets

STERLING- James B. Taets, 80, died Thursday January 10, 2019, at Good Samaritan in Prophetstown.  

James was born April 4, 1938, in Tampico, the son of Edward and Henrietta (Bruder) Taets.  He was employed by North Western Steel & Wire for 34 years.

Survivors include two daughters Tammie Prescott of RockFalls, and Tina (Mike) Hernandez of Sterling; one son Tim (Traci) Taets of Huntsville AL; two brothers Richard (Bernadette) Taets of Sterling, and John (Linda) Taets of Tampico; two sisters Diana (Kenneth) Braasch of Tampico, and Dawn Cooney of Naperville; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Delores Hamblock.

The funeral is at 11AM Wednesday January 16, 2019 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling, with Pastor Ben Anderson, of New Life Lutheran, officiating. Visitation will be 9AM- 11AM prior to the funeral, and private family burial will take place at Tampico Catholic Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Vitas Hospice, and Sterling Moose Lodge 726.
