Obituary of Harold D Steiner

    Harold D. Steiner, 94, died peacefully on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at Resthave Assisted Living in Morrison, Illinois. Harold was born May 17, 1924 to Cleo and Mary (Swope) Steiner in Sterling.  He was a Sterling High School graduate and attended Bethal Mennonite College. He married Lois Smith on March 12, 1949.  Harold farmed north of Sterling on Freeport Road. After his retirement, he and his wife spent 30 years traveling the country and wintering in California.  He was an avid card player, especially enjoying Bridge.

   Harold is survived by his wife Lois and seven children, David (Sharlene), Ann (Gary) Cochran, Jane Klein, John (Anne), Susan Linboom, Carl, Jeff (Sylvia), nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Arlene Shipley.

   At Harold's request there will be no funeral services. A celebration of Harold's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been completed by Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation.
