Obituary of Janice Ruth Bilbrey

Janice Ruth Bilbrey, 81, of Sterling died Thursday December 1, 2022 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.  Janice was born May 14, 1941 in Rock Falls, the daughter of F. Berwyn and Winifred (Slinkard) Jackson.  

   Janice graduated from Sterling High School, and Northern Illinois University. She was active in school and church choir. She loved to sing and was an avid bridge player with her friends. 

   Survivors include two daughters Susan B. (David) Metzler of Sterling, and Peggy (Brad) Wetzell of Tampico; one son David D. (Robyn) Bilbrey of Acworth GA; six grandchildren Derek D. Bilbrey, Madelyn R. Bilbrey, Victoria C. Metzler, Jennifer R. Metzler, Kelsey R. Bruns, and Alyson E. Wetzell; three great grandchildren Ellie, Adalie, Averie.

   Janice was preceded in death by her parents.

   Funeral service will be 11 AM Tuesday December 6, 2022 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with Pastor Zach Mapes, officiating.  Visitation will be 9:30AM-11AM prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place immediately following at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. 

   A memorial has been established to the 1st Christian Church in Sterling.
