Obituary of Cindy K Witmer

   Cindy K. Witmer, 75, of Sterling, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, June 18, 2023. She raised three beautiful children and helped raise six beautiful grandchildren. Cindy worked at CGH Medical Center for 27 years.

   Cindy was born January 7, 1948 in Sterling, the daughter of Betty (Haak) and Norval Zigler. In her younger years, she loved to travel, but became the most dedicated, hardworking, loving mother. She was not much of a sports fan but she loved her Chicago Bears. Cindy also enjoyed spending her time with family and in her rose garden. She loved and cared for any animal she could. She had a heart of gold. She also worked as a “Grandma” at Jefferson School, she always talked about how important her kids were to her.

   Survivors include her mother, Betty Zigler of Sterling; brother, Kirby Zigler of Milan; three children, Joshua Witmer of WI, Brooke Witmer of Sterling and Jason Witmer of Dixon; six grandchildren, Taylor Whiles, Jaiden Witmer, Lilli Witmer, Nate Croft, Brick Witmer and Carmen Campos.

   She was preceded in death by her father, Norval Zigler and a brother, Jeff (Z-Man) Zigler.

   A visitation will be held from 10AM - 12 PM Friday, June 23, 2023 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. 

   A memorial has been established.
