Obituary of John Ukena

 John Ukena, 65, of Sterling died July 7, 2023 at Resthave Nursing in Morrison.  John was born June 6, 1958 the son of Louis and Lois (Baer) Ukena.

   John worked at Self Help Enterprises and enjoyed the time he had there with the clients. He also loved spending time with his family.

   Survivors include one brother Ron Ukena of Sterling; two sisters Ann Kennedy of Sterling, and Cindy (Randy) McCune of Tolono IL; four nieces Chloe Kennedy, Corbin Kennedy, Beth Blackwell, and Kristen McCune; three nephews John Kennedy, Andrew Kennedy, and Matt McCune; great nieces and nephews Carter Blackwell, Kora Blackwell, Quinn Blackwell, Christopher Blackwell, Aubrie McCune, Aspyn McCune, Ava McCune, and Adley McCune 

   John was preceded in death by his parents.

   Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday July 13, 2023 at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, with Reverend Makayla Dahleen, officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services from 10AM-11AM. Cremation rites will take place after the service.

   A memorial has been established.
