Obituary of Robert Card

   Robert “Bob” W. Card, 89, of Sterling, IL died July 7, 2023 at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling, IL. Bob was born May 12,1934 in Chicago, IL, the son of William and Bernice (Schultz) Card. He served in the United States Army being stationed in Korea during the Korean War. Bob was retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company.

   He married Sandra Farthing on October 9,1955 in Rock Falls. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2013. 

   Survivors include two nieces Vicki (Gary) Bell, and Monica (Doug) Watson; two nephews Brent (Renae) Ennis and Kevin (Kim) Ennis; one sister-in-law Jill Hansen.

   Robert was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Veracini and Bernice Martens and one nephew Mike Veracini.

   Cremation rites have been accorded. 

   Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 10:00 am at   Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling followed by a Memorial service at 11:00 am. Military rites will follow the memorial service at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling. 

   A memorial has been established to Happy Tails and the Sterling American Legion. Condolences may be sent
